I’m Marie

And welcome! I’m Marie Markovsky, the photographer and founder of Very Photique Photography. My new bespoke natural light studio is located in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. I’m all about capturing stunning and priceless photographs.

My passion for photography has been with me for most of my life. What started out as a hobby back in high school has become my professional career and something I am very passionate about. I have over 12 years of experience in the newborn industry and a further 10 years in photographing babies. I am often referred to as a baby whisperer as I have a natural flair when it comes to handling and settling babies, so please rest assured your babies are in good hands.

As a mum to five beautiful children, I genuinely understand the demands of parenthood and how busy life can get. This is why I believe that it’s important to stand still in time and freeze those fleeting moments that can pass us by so quickly. From blooming bellies… to newborn babies… to brand new families… those delicate moments that truly matter…

This is where I step in, as your photographer.

Photography to me is about bringing joy and happiness to the people I photograph. I put my whole heart into each and every session because I absolutely love my craft!

I’m incredibly fortunate to meet the most amazing families and capture their precious moments. I truly believe I have the most rewarding job on earth and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

Simple & Minimal

The Studio

Light-filled, airy, calming and minimalistic are just a few of the many ways to describe my new studio. I have a wall of soft sheer curtains which perfectly diffuse the natural light. I’m all for the Mediterranean influence with my arch-inspired corner and an olive tree that appears in some of my sessions. The neutral colour scheme adds to the fresh, simple and minimal aesthetic. I absolutely love styling and rearranging the studio to keep it fresh.

I also have a dedicated boho theme which includes a cane daybed set up with an assortment of soft textured pillows and the most amazing preserved flower arrangement.

A beautiful assortment of knits, wraps, headpiece/tiebacks in soft muted tones are available for your newborn session. I love to update and add to my prop collection which is always on display. For the older children I have some unique & fun props – these are always a great hit. My exquisite client wardrobe of lush gowns and dresses are also available for use in your session.

There is reverse cycle air conditioning/heating to cater for all weather all year round. I also provide a change table and all the necessities you need for when leaving the house the first time with a new baby. The studio is sterilised and cleaned regularly in between sessions. Its a beautiful calming environment you will definitely enjoy.
